Why Does the iOS Version Have More Features Than the Android Version?

At Buitenland Loket, we aim to make our app as accessible and useful as possible for all users. However, you may notice that the iOS version currently offers more features than the Android version. This is due to a combination of technical and operational reasons.

The development process for iOS is generally faster and more streamlined. Our technical setup is primarily focused on iOS, which allows us to test, improve, and roll out new features more efficiently on Apple devices.

Our development team has mainly concentrated on iOS, partly because the majority of our users currently use an iPhone or iPad. This doesn’t mean we’re neglecting Android users — we are continuously working to improve and expand the Android version step by step.

We have also faced significant delays with the Google Play Store’s review process. The app has been rejected several times because Google incorrectly assumed Buitenland Loket is part of the Dutch government. This is despite the fact that we clearly mention throughout the app that we are an independent platform. These repeated rejections have unfortunately slowed down the Android development timeline.

We are fully committed to bringing more features to the Android version and to aligning both platforms as much as possible in the future.
